Do you like to roam, explore, climb trees, build dens, make campfires, cook on an open fire, go wild, take risks, get grubby, track for wildlife...or would you like to?
If so the Woodland Play Centre maybe a place you would like to visit, as it maximises and enhances the potential to access outdoor spaces in an informal, unique and playful way, whilst nurturing a healthy understanding and respect for the natural world. Allowing you to communicate and express your feelings through play and using the environment, you are able to direct and lead your own explorations and experiences.
Situated in West Somerset the Woodland Play Centre works with children, families, local organisations, the education sector and adult groups. Projects and thought provoking training can be delivered anywhere within reason! We aim to please so if you have a specific project in mind just ask! We currently offer;
Woodland Playschemes ~ Woodland Parties ~ Woodland Adventure Days ~ Woodland Educational Days ~ Professional Training
Within these projects there are opportunities to build dens, explore, campfire cooking, get close to nature, play freely in wild spaces, environmental art and a variety of wild activities, as well as to contemplate, listen and be thoughtful all nestled deep in the Quantock Hills.
The Holiday Playschemes run throughout the year in every holiday except Christmas! Woodland Parties continue to be a raging success and also continue throughout the whole year, make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Woodland Playschemes
Offer parents / carers an alternative environment for children to enjoy the outdoors, where they can explore, climb, get wet, muddy and dirty, feel bugs and play with natural elements.
We work with the children, helping them to explore, appreciate and discover the magic of natural spaces. Children and young people aged 8 - 16 years are offered the freedom to play with a choice of stimulating activities during the school holidays such as;
shelter building, getting hands dirty, searching for mini-beasts, creating environmental art, fire lighting, campfire cooking, natural crafts, wide games, all in changing and natural spaces!
Woodland Educational Days
The Woodland Play Centre offers pre-schools, primary and secondary schools educational day trips for a class or group to spend the day outside. Using the natural environment to enhance core curriculum in a fun, safe, hands-on and exciting way. The organiser should contact us to discuss how activities can be linked to the curriculum in order to make the day an experience the children will remember! Please contact us to discuss.
Woodland Birthday Parties
Go wild and have a birthday party in the woods, sitting around a campfire toasting marshmallows! Birthday parties can be tailored to meet an individuals age, ability and wishes. Activities can be similar to the playschemes or themed on request. Parties are 3 hours and generally run from 1000 - 1300hrs or 1400 - 1700hrs, whole days & over night can be catered for on request. Parties include;
Provision for up to 12 children and 2 adults for 3 hours
Sausages, Marshmallows, Biscuits, Drinks & Woodland Cookies
Activities & Games facilitated by a group leader for 3 hours
Additional options include Eco Party bags, Bug Ball cakes, Large Woodland Birthday cake ~ all home made.
