Oxfam Trailwalker 2007

  Events

Get fit and fight poverty!

Trailwalker takes place on 14 – 15 July 2007

Trailwalker is a 100-kilometre trek for teams of four people with a 30-hour time limit. Anyone aged 18 or over can take part – from colleagues and clients, to pub quiz teams and siblings. Although the course record is less than 10 hours, most people take between 25 and 30 hours to finish – which doesn’t allow time for sleeping!

The route follows the South Downs Way from Petersfield to Brighton with stunning views across to the Channel. You occasionally leave the main route to drop down to a checkpoint where you can meet up with your supporters, have a cup of tea, and change your socks.

The event was first held more than 25 years ago by the Queen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment (QGS), in Hong Kong, as a training exercise. Trailwalker UK has since grown into a major fundraising event for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. In 2007, Trailwalker will take place in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, and England… and it’s still growing.

Have a look around using the navigation bar on the left – we’re sure you’ll find something or someone to inspire you!
