Would you like your community to be a nicer place to live? Wouldn't it be great if there was somewhere cool that you could go to hang out with your mates without being moaned at or feeling threatened?
Bradford Community Environment Project (BCEP) exists to engage communities with their environment. BCEP helps the people in Bradford make it a better place to live, work and play.
The youth in your area could follow their example and help your outdoor areas to be a nicer place to be. BCEP supports:
Community led regeneration of unloved or under-used land into public access granted spaces such as small parks, gardens or play areas;
Raising awareness of sustainability issues with youth groups
Support for food growing groups such as school gardening clubs and youth groups;
Adventurous Play Outdoors
By sourcing materials from skips, scrap stores and local firms and then making them safe, a collection of "loose parts" have been assembled to make outdoor adventure areas.
"Loose Parts" is a term used for scrap items that could be used as play things. Perhaps there is an unloved piece of land near you that would benefit from some care from the local youth community. A small garden cold be planted, or with help from the local council, an adventure playground could be built.
