Fun Activities: How to make walking your dog fun
Posted on Friday, May 23, 2014 - 01:53 PM (1038 Reads)
Outdoor Guides

I used to hate dog walking. I loathed having to leave my warm cosy house to go out in all weathers. Somehow, I have been nominated as the family dog walker, and I donít like it. It uses up my valuable time when I could be doing something much more pleasurable.

So, as our dog looks up at me with those big brown eyes of his, I am plotting a change to the status quo. I have been successfully finding ways to make the chore of walking the dog into some fun for me.

Fun Activities: What makes a great outdoor dad?
Posted on Thursday, March 13, 2014 - 06:00 AM (898 Reads)
Outdoor Guides Apparently teenagers today are suffering from Nature Deficit Disorder. That means they donít get out much when it comes to interacting with the natural environment. You know, trees and rivers and the like.

But what role models do todayís teenagers have? Pop stars, footballers, and er, well, I canít think of anyone else? You donít get to see any of them doing outdoor activities in the wilderness.

So, perhaps you should be getting your inspiration and encouragement from a source a bit closer to home Ė your dad. Does your dad encourage you to spend time outdoors? Do you enjoy spending time with your dad outdoors? What makes a great outdoor dad?
