Farningham

Farningham is a few miles from junction 3 of the M25, providing ease of access to the surrounding area whilst retaining its tranquil atmosphere. There are a variety of buildings that date from as far back as the 13th century.

The focal point of Farningham is the high street, with a selection of pubs and places to eat. The river Darent flows past the lawns of The Lion Hotel, where children play in the river trying to catch the fish or feed the ducks.

Eynsford

Eynsford is a beautiful village on the A225 between Farningham and Shoreham. There is wonderful countryside and a wealth of history in the area. Places to visit include Eagle Heights bird of prey centre, Lullingstone Roman Villa, Lullingstone Castle, Eynsford Castle, and as expected an array of places to eat and drink.

In the middle of Eynsford village is a ford, with a 450 year old stone bridge over the river Darent. During the summer this becomes a focal point for children to cool down in the river Darent as it flows through Eynsford.

Reasons to Visit:

- The Palace of India - The Chequers - The Lion Hotel -
- The Pied Bull - The Castle - The Five Bells -
- The Malt Shovel - Simply Thai at The Watermark - The Plough -

Kids Get Active Outdoors
Posted by: webmaster on Thursday, July 12, 2007 - 02:56 PM
Kids Stuff Active Outdoors is a community website that aims to encourage youth to turn off their televisions and playstations and get active outdoors.

Don't sit around the house saying "I'm bored" when there are so many things that you can do outdoors. Being outdoors is healthy, and you can get to meet people. If you are stuck for ideas, look around the site for ideas. If you have ideas yourself, then post a news article on this site and tell others about the things you do.

If you feel that your local area lacks places for you to go, then work out what you want and ask your local council how they can help.

We look forward to hearing about the activities you have been doing outdoors.
